On December 6, 2000 Dan Hittle was executed by the State of Texas for the murder of police officer Gerald Walker. After killing Officer Walker, Hittle proceeded to his destination where he killed Mary Goss, Richard Cook, and Raymond Gregg. He then reloaded his shotgun and shot Goss' four year old daughter Christy Condon. Hittle was prosecuted for the officer's murder but not the other four. Hittle was on parole for the murders of his adoptive parents in Minnesota, where he only spent 11 years in prison for their murders.

unsolved murders

Police say that Jim Nisser was hit by a car while riding his bicycle to work in the early morning hours of September 11, 2008. Apparently some parts of the vehicle were left at the scene. Police say they believe the parts were from either a Jeep Cherokee or a Dodge Durango. The pics below are similar vehicles, just for a reference as to what kind of vehicle we are talking about.

Police claim that Jamie Packer was hit by a similar vehicle about 2am in July of 2010 on the dike road in Wabasha, Minnesota.

It is unknown if the cases are related in any way but because it was the same type of vehicle, same type of circumstances, I thought I would point that out.

On September 5, 2011 at about 2pm, boaters found a tan colored canvas bag floating in the Mississippi river. The boaters discovered a deceased infant girl wrapped in plastic bags. The bag also contained several angel figurines, one of which was about 10 inches tall and had the year 2000 on it as well as the words Anno Domini. The bag, police say, had markings on it that suggested it came from the Mexican resort community of Manzanillo. Also in the bag was this piece of jewelry. Police have also created a DNA profile, so if you have any information please call the Winona county Sheriff's department in Minnesota.

For an unknown reason, she placed her baby in the oven, locked it and turned it on. Despite some head trauma, the county coroner later confirmed the child had died from thermal injury.

Less than a month ago, on January 10, 2017, thirteen year old Jayveonne Price kidnapped a neighbor's four year old daughter and sexually assaulted her. Price is being charged as an adult. Mike and I talk about MIssissippi's juvenile court system and why it may be better if the court turned the case back to the youth court.

unsolved murder/unidentified

Our unsolved crime segment this week focuses on unidentified baby Jane, sometimes referred to as Delta Dawn. On Dec 5, 1982, a young woman carrying a child was seen by truckers walking westbound on Interstate 10. Police later responded to a call that an adult was floating in the river below but no adult matching the description given was ever found, only this beautiful 2 year old (approx) blonde haired child. The coroner determined the young girl had survived the fall but inhaled water and drowned. Someone is missing his baby.

Episode 20 - United Kingdom

Crime Connection

In our Crime Connection segment, Mike and I talk about Peter Manuel, a serial killer (who was an American citizen) in Scotland in the 1950s. Manuel was a career criminal and was known to have committed hundreds of burglaries. A couple of times during his breaking and entering escapades, Peter Manuel would kill the entire family and even sexually assaulted the corpse of one young woman. Experts claim that Manuel experienced Paraphilia, which is a sexual condition that requires some form of extreme or atypical means to obtain arousal as well as climax. Apparently, physical control and necrophilia were his thing....

He was hung for his crimes on July 11, 1958.

unsolved/missing person

Our unsolved crime this week focuses on Claudia Lawrence, a 35 year old chef who disappeared as she was returning home from work at the University of York. Technically, Claudia is a missing person but her case has captivated the city and the case features some interesting issues. Did Claudia live a high-risk lifestyle that led to her disappearance or was she a victim of a well-known serial killer with ties to the area?

missing persons

Our missing person story this week features an outrageous amount of youths who have gone missing over the last five years or so. Unaccompanied minors seeking asylum in the UK from countries like Somalia, Pakistan, and other Middle eastern territories can enter the UK legally and the child welfare system will help to find them homes. However, THOUSANDS of these kids have gone missing. As many as 10,000 unaccompanied minors across Europe are missing and officials fear they are victims of human trafficking or have been taken in as slaves.

In this episode, Mike and I talk about some trafficking issues and I give some tips on how to spot a victim of trafficking. If you have additional information that can help our listeners, don't hesitate to provide details. We also talked about the website to look at all these is that link.

missing person

Donna Kay Cloud

Donna Cloud was in an abusive relationship and while family was trying to help her, she couldn't seem to let go. The last time anyone heard from Donna was on the evening of October 26, 2016. I spoke to Donna's father, who for the most part has had to do most of the investigating on his own. The police department failed to investigate her case for six weeks because of staffing issues. There is a lot more to this story than meets the eye. Was "Guy A" responsible for her disappearance (she WAS with him that night) or did Donna's abusive ex boyfriend have a hand in this?
