WESTLEY ALLAN DODD
In Episode 3 - Oregon, we discuss Westley Allan Dodd - a child sex killer who exhibited deviant sexual behavior since the age of 13. The book Driven to Kill outlines Dodd's activities as well as his thoughts as he engaged in the crimes. The criminal justice system failed to protect society from Dodd by allowing him to continue his sex crimes. This is a two parter, in Ep 3 we take a look at his early life and what he believes encouraged his deviant behaviors. In Ep 4, we dig deep into how he sexually assaulted and murdered three boys.
VERONICA SUE JAMES
Bias-based policing is a problem in the United States. In Ep 3, Mike and I talk about how police departments often overlook crimes involving high-risk victims. Veronica Sue James was a known meth user and police say she was probably a prostitute. However, her case was barely investigated. Why? Doesn't she deserve to receive justice? She had children, don't they deserve justice? What happened to her?
Kyron Hormon disappeared from his Portland Elementary School in 2010. His stepmother is a person of interest in the case; she demonstrated poor decision making by sexting another man and trying to hire a gardner to kill her husband. Information for Kyron is everywhere. Listen to Ep. 3 and tell us what you think.
